Dear Colleagues,
Would you like to learn more about how to foster an environment for programming and logical reasoning in your Nursery & Primary classes? Would you like to know more about how to develop digital competence with young pupils?
Teachers at European School Mamer (Luxembourg II) have found screenless, unplugged solutions to improving the early coding skills of the pupils, and they look forward to sharing the outcomes of their projects and examples of good practice.
We are pleased to invite you to a short and concrete 45 minutes webinar where Mr Thomas Golightly will demonstrate and explain his approach to enable such an environment to develop in the Nursery and lower Primary school. This will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions and meet.
"In this webinar I will cover the beginnings of our project to create a technology suite in our Maternelle. I will talk you through the ideas and reasoning behind the project, along with the reasons for starting with our coding/programming education from the very beginning of our school, as opposed to the Primary.
I’ll introduce you to 4 programmable toys that we have chosen and will explain the training given to our staff to enable them to begin using the products with confidence. We’ll take a look at some activities we have undertaken to demonstrate our starting points. Finally, we’ll look towards the future of what we hope will come next for our Maternelle and Primary as we look to push the project onwards."
