Title:'Reading Hybridity in Fiction: How does Literature Engage with Philosophy?'
Description: How can literature help us to examine philosophical conundrums? Touching on Roland Barthes’s ‘Death of the Author’ and James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake, this workshop will explore how literature provides us with a space to question the complexities of identity and society. I will ask us to think about how hybridity can be examined through the flexibility of literary meaning, as we determine how literature forms a philosophical reflection of the world.
